Reading Rockets is a national multimedia project that offers a wealth of researchbased reading strategies, lessons, and activities designed to help young children learn how to read and read better. Our reading resources assist parents, teachers, and other educators in helping struggling readers build fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.2012 was the National Year of Reading. The reading texts are followed by interactive reading comprehension activities, a recording of the text to listen to online, a supplementary grammar and vocabulary practice worksheet based on the text, and links to National Geographic images and videos for users to explore the topics further.
